  • Car Dealership: Palm Springs Ford, Palm Springs, CA

    Palm Springs Motors was looking to reduce operating expenses at their new car dealerships.  Firefly Illumination was chosen to provide energy efficient lighting for their Ford and Mazda dealerships.  The existing lighting consisted of 237 1000w metal halide fixtures.  These were replaced with 237 FFX246 T5HO fixtures at 351 watts per fixture.  In addition to the savings, the Firefly retrofit provided a better quality of light with significantly less glare and better color rending that allowed their customers to see truer colors.  The new fixtures also eliminated the warm up time associated with metal halide fixtures.

  • Interior High Bays: Gowen Field Tank Maintenance Facility, Boise, ID

    The Gowen Field Air National Guard Base in Boise, ID was looking reduce the energy usage at their facilities.  Firefly Illumination was chosen to provide energy efficient lighting for a tank wash facility on the post. The existing lighting consisted of eighteen 1000w, and eleven 400w metal halide high bay fixtures. The existing fixtures were replaced with eighteen ECH246 T5HO fixtures at 351 watts per fixture and eleven ECH246 T8 fixtures at 204 watts per fixtures.  The new fixtures also eliminated the warm up time associated with metal halide fixtures.

  • Retail: Westfest Shopping Center – Phoenix, AZ

    The owners of Westfest Shopping Center and their property manager Eagle Commercial were seeking to reduce operating expenses for at the 200,000 square foot multi-tenant retail facility.  In addition to the monthly electric bill, the center was racking up approximately $2,000 per month in maintenance costs from replacing lamps and ballasts in the existing HID fixtures.  The existing lighting included 57 1000w metal halide fixtures.  The retrofit project included 107 RCX226 T5HO fixtures at 156 watts per fixture.

  • School: Mohave Valley Elementary School, Mohave Valley, AZ

    The Mohave Valley School District was looking for opportunities for energy efficient lighting retrofits at their facilities.  Through US Energy Services Firefly Illumination was chosen to provide energy efficient lighting for replacement of existing parking lot lights at the Mohave Valley Elementary School Campus.  The existing lighting consisted of fourteen 400w and seven 250w metal halide fixtures. The existing 400w fixtures were replaced with fourteen FFX144 at 234 watts per fixtures and the 250 w fixtures were replaced is seven FFX142 at 117 watts per fixture.  In addition to the savings, the Firefly retrofit provided a better quality of light with significantly less glare.  The new fixtures also eliminated the warm up time associated with metal halide fixtures.

  • Tennis Courts: Rockwood Park – Chesterfield County, VA

    The Chesterfield County Department of Parks and Recreation was looking for opportunities for energy efficient lighting retrofits at their facilities.  Firefly Illumination was chosen to provide energy efficient lighting for a recreational tennis facility at Rockwood Park.  The existing lighting consisted of twenty-four 1000w metal halide flood lights.  The existing fixtures were replaced with twenty-four  RCX246 T5HO fixtures at 351 watts per fixture.  In addition to the savings, the Firefly retrofit provided a better quality of light with significantly less glare.  The new fixtures also eliminated the warm up time associated with metal halide fixtures.
